      Mod Types Explained

      Know what you are installing
      Low risk

      Mods

Add or change content: new maps, characters, textures, interface tweaks and storylines.

      Best for
Extending a game you have already finished.
      Tip
Install one at a time and launch the game after each.
      Higher risk

      Trainers

Small programs that adjust values such as health or money while the game is running.

      Best for
Single-player testing or skipping repetitive grind.
      Tip
Antivirus often flags them because they edit memory. Use trusted authors only and never switch protection off.
      Low risk

      Patches

Fix bugs, restore missing assets, repair save problems or add translations.

      Best for
Broken, outdated or partly working installs.
      Tip
Match the patch version to your game version exactly.
      Medium risk

      Tools

Save editors, asset extractors and viewers that work on your game files.

      Best for
Managing saves, inspecting assets, building your own mods.
      Tip
Always work on a copy of your save, never the original.
      No risk

      Guides

Walkthroughs, modding tutorials and setup instructions written by the community.

      Best for
Learning the basics before you install anything.
      Tip
Check the last-updated date; old guides can be wrong for new versions.

      Safe Modding Checklist

Run through this before every install

      Before you install

      1. Back up your save files and the game folder.
      2. Compare your game version with the mod version in the compatibility matrix.
      3. Read the README included with the download in full.
      4. Check recent reviews and reports for that mod, especially from the last few days.
      5. Scan the download with up-to-date antivirus. If it is flagged, do not run it and do not disable protection.
      6. Install one mod at a time, launch the game and test before adding the next.
      7. Keep a note of which files were replaced so you can undo the change.
      8. Once you have a working setup, save a copy of it.

      Common mistakes

      • Mixing mods that edit the same files. The last one installed silently wins and often breaks the other.
      • Using the wrong engine build. A mod for RPG Maker MV will not work on MZ, and the reverse.
      • Extracting to the wrong folder. Files must sit beside the game executable or in the folder the README names.
      • Updating the game without checking. New game versions are the number one cause of broken mods.
      • Using trainers in online play. This can get accounts banned.
      • Ignoring the "Needs attention" panel. Low health usually means other people are hitting the same problem.

      Troubleshooting

Fixes for the most common problems
The game crashes on launch after installing a mod

Remove the mod's files (use your note of replaced files or restore your backup), confirm the game launches, then reinstall the mod alone. If it still crashes, check that the mod version matches your game version and that you chose the right engine build.

      My save will not load

Restore the backed-up save. Many mods add variables that older saves do not contain, so some work only on a new game. The README normally says which.

      Images or audio are missing

This usually means files were extracted into the wrong folder or an archive was only partly extracted. Extract again to a fresh folder and copy the contents so the folder structure matches the original game.

      Antivirus flags a file

Treat it seriously. Trainers and save tools are sometimes flagged for how they work, but a flag can also be a real threat. Check reports and reviews for that mod, and if you are unsure, do not run it. Do not turn off your protection to get it working.

The mod installed but nothing changed

Check that you are launching the same game folder you modified, that the mod is not overwritten by a later one, and whether the README requires a new game or a particular launch option.

An Android install says "App not installed"

This often means a signature or version conflict with the existing app. Back up your progress if the game supports it, uninstall the original, then install the modded package. Also make sure the package matches your device's architecture.

      How to Read This Dashboard

What each number really tells you

      Downloads per hour

A rolling count over the last 60 minutes. It shows popularity and momentum, not quality. A mod can be popular and still have poor install health.

      Install health

The share of compatibility reports that say the mod works. Treat results with fewer than about 20 reports as a rough signal rather than a verdict.

      Compatibility matrix

Shows the most recent report for each mod on each engine. A recent change from working to broken often points to a new game update.

      Trend sparkline

Short-term download activity for each mod. A steady climb suggests organic interest; a sharp spike often follows a new release or update.

      Install funnel

Shows where people drop off between download and a successful launch. A big gap between "Installed" and "Launched OK" means something is failing after install.

      Live insights

Plain-language summaries produced automatically from the same live data, refreshed every few seconds. Use them as a starting point, then check the mod's page and reports.

      How to install mods

      Four simple steps
      01

      Download

Click Download on any mod card and save the file to your device.

      02

      Extract

Use WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract. Read the included README for specifics.

      03

      Copy to game

Move extracted files into the game's install folder; replace when asked.

      04
