How do I find what I am looking for?
Use the search box at the top of any page, or browse by category. Narrow results with the filters for type, platform and engine, and sort by newest, popular or top rated.
Each listing has its own page with a description, version, requirements and install notes. Read that page before you download.
Do I need an account?
You can browse and read without one. An account is needed to post in the forums, reply to threads and report content. Registration only needs a username, an email address and a password.
How do I read a listing page?
Version: the build number. Match it with any patch, mod or trainer you plan to use.
Engine / platform: for example RPG Maker, Ren'Py, Unity, HTML or Android.
Size and requirements: check free disk space and your operating system.
Install notes: any special steps for that file.
Reports and comments: recent experiences from other people.
What do the labels and badges mean?
Mod adds or changes content. Patch fixes or translates. Trainer and Cheat table change values in single-player games. Tool is a utility such as a save editor. Guide is a written walkthrough. The Glossary below explains other terms.
How do I stay up to date?
Open the forums to see new threads and announcements, and use the live activity panels on the Mods and Cheats pages to see recent uploads, updates and compatibility reports.
⬇ Downloads & Installation 7 articles
How do I download a file?
Open the listing page and click the Download button.
Wait for the file to start. A large file can take a moment to begin.
Save it somewhere easy to find, such as a new folder in Documents.
Check that the finished file size matches the size on the listing page.
A stable connection helps with big files. If the download keeps failing, see the troubleshooting section below.
How do I extract ZIP, RAR and 7z files?
Install 7-Zip or WinRAR if you do not have an extractor.
Right-click the archive and choose Extract to folder.
Open the new folder and read the README or text file if one is included.
Do not run a game from inside the archive. Always extract it first. If the archive asks for a password, it is shown on the listing page or in the description.
How do I install a PC game?
Most games do not need an installer. After extracting, open the folder, find the main program (an .exe file, usually named after the game) and double-click it. Some listings include a setup program. In that case follow its steps and read the install notes.
Keep the folder path short and simple, for example C:\Games\GameName. Very long paths and unusual characters can cause errors.
Which extra software might I need?
7-Zip or WinRAR to extract archives.
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable for many Windows games.
.NET Runtime for games and tools built on .NET.
DirectX for older titles.
Updated graphics drivers for smooth play.
My download is slow or keeps failing
Check your free disk space.
Pause other downloads and streaming on your network.
Try again later or from a different browser.
Turn off a VPN or download manager and try once more.
If it still fails, email us the page address and what you see.
The archive is corrupted or will not extract
Download the file again, then compare its size with the listing page. Update 7-Zip or WinRAR to the latest version. If the error says a part is missing, make sure you downloaded every part of a multi-part archive and that all parts are in the same folder.
How do I update a game without losing my saves?
Back up your save files. They are usually in the game folder (a save folder) or in your user profile folders.
Extract the new version into a new folder instead of over the old one.
Copy your saves into the new version's save folder.
Launch and test. Keep the old version until you know the saves work.
Some updates change the save format. Check the changelog on the listing page.
🛠 Troubleshooting 7 articles
The game will not start or crashes on launch
Make sure the archive was fully extracted to a folder, not run from inside the archive.
Move the folder to a short path such as C:\Games\.
Right-click the game program and choose Run as administrator.
Install the latest Visual C++ Redistributable and update your graphics driver.
Temporarily remove any mod or patch and test the clean game.
Read the README and the comments on the listing for known issues.
I see a black or white screen
Wait about a minute on first launch, since some games load slowly. Then try windowed mode, update your graphics driver, close overlays (screen recorders, game overlays) and run the game on your dedicated graphics card if you have one.
Error about a missing DLL (VCRUNTIME, MSVCP, d3dx9, etc.)
This means a Windows component is missing. Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (both x86 and x64) and, for older games, the DirectX End-User Runtime from Microsoft. Download these only from Microsoft's own website, never from sites offering single DLL files.
No sound, missing images or garbled text
This usually means the extraction was incomplete or files ended up in the wrong folder. Delete the folder and extract the archive again into a clean location. For garbled text, avoid special characters in the folder path and check the README for language or font notes.
My save will not load after an update
Restore your backed-up save and the previous version. Updates can change the save format, and some only work with a new game. Check the changelog and the thread for that game, and ask in the Help board if others have the same issue.
The game runs slowly
Close other programs, especially browsers with many tabs.
Lower the resolution and effects in the game settings.
Update your graphics driver.
Plug a laptop into power and set the high performance mode.
Make sure the game runs on your dedicated graphics card.
My antivirus or SmartScreen blocks the file
Treat the warning seriously. Some tools such as trainers are flagged because of how they work, but a warning can also mean a real threat. Check the listing's comments and reports. If you are unsure, do not run the file. Never turn off your antivirus to get something working. If you believe it is a false alarm, email us the page address and the exact warning text.
📱 Android 5 articles
How do I install an APK file?
Download the APK to your phone.
Open it from your Downloads folder or the notification.
If asked, allow installs from that source (your browser or file manager) in Settings.
Tap Install and wait for it to finish.
Turn the setting back off afterwards for safety.
Some games also need extra data files. The listing page explains where to put them.
"App not installed" error
This usually means a conflict. Common causes: an older copy with a different signature is installed, there is not enough storage, or the package does not match your device. Back up your progress if the game supports it, uninstall the old version, free some space and install again. Make sure you downloaded the right package for your device.
"There was a problem parsing the package"
The file may be incomplete or not compatible with your Android version. Download it again, check that the size matches the listing, and confirm your Android version meets the requirements listed on the page.
The game crashes or will not open on Android
Restart your phone and free at least 1–2 GB of storage.
Grant the storage or media permission if the game asks.
Clear the app cache in Settings, then Apps.
Check the Android version and CPU requirements on the listing.
Reinstall the game.
Google Play Protect shows a warning
Play Protect warns about apps it does not recognise. That is not proof of a problem, but it means you should be careful. Only install files from sources you trust, read recent reports on the listing page, and skip the install if you are not comfortable.
🧩 Mods & Cheats 7 articles
How do I install a mod safely?
Back up your saves and the game folder.
Make sure the mod version matches your game version.
Extract the mod and read its README.
Copy the files into the game folder as the README says.
Launch the game and test before adding another mod.
What is the difference between mods, patches, trainers and cheat tables?
Mods add or change content. Patches fix bugs or add translations. Trainers run beside the game and change values with hotkeys. Cheat tables are files for memory tools that list values for a specific game version. All of these are meant for single-player use.
A mod stopped working after a game update
New game versions change files and addresses, so older mods and tables often break. Check the mod page for a newer version, or return to the previous game version until an update is released. Look at the compatibility reports to see whether others have the same problem.
A trainer will not attach or the hotkeys do nothing
Start the game first and wait for the main menu, then open the trainer.
Match the trainer to your game version and 32/64-bit build.
Run the trainer as administrator if the README says so.
Click into the game window before pressing hotkeys.
Close other programs that use the same shortcuts.
How do I use console commands and cheat tables?
Console commands are typed into the game's own developer console, which may need to be enabled first. Cheat tables are opened in a memory tool while the game is running. Both come with instructions in their README, so follow those for your exact game.
How do I undo a mod?
Restore the backup you made, or delete the files the mod added and put back any it replaced. This is why we recommend keeping a note of what changed. If the game still fails, re-extract a clean copy.
How do I read the compatibility reports and live activity?
The Mods and Cheats pages show live downloads, updates, reviews and compatibility reports. A high working rate means most people report success. A recent drop usually follows a game update. Use these as a guide, then read the listing's comments.
